Military power of Armenia & Azerbaijan

Armenia is a country located in Southwestern Asia with an area of 29,743 km² (land boundries: 1,570 km and costline 0 km (landlocked)). The capital of Armenia is Yerevan. The number of inhabitants is 2,967,900.

Armenia has been a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) since 1994. Russia has deployed about 2,000 peacekeeping troops to the area in and around Nagorno-Karabakh as part of a cease-fire agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The inventory of the Armenian Armed Forces includes mostly Russian and Soviet-era equipment.

Azerbaijan is a country located in Southwestern Asia with an area of 86,600 km² (land boundries: 2,468 km and costline 0 km (landlocked); note - Azerbaijan borders the Caspian Sea (713 km)). The capital of Azerbaijan is Baku. The number of inhabitants is 10,127,874.

The inventory of the Azerbaijan military is comprised mostly of Russian and Soviet-era weapons systems with a small mix of equipment from other countries, like Israel and Turkey.
