As part of the alliance comparison, you can compare the military budget, human strength and the number of basic military equipment: land, air and sea. It should be remembered that the alliances include only countries supported by armedforces.eu.
Manpower available for military gives the number of males falling in the military age range for the country and assumes that every individual is fit to serve. Active personel means the number of military personnel on active duty that are currently serving full-time in their military capacity. Reserves are forces that are not normally kept under arms, whose role is to be available to mobilize when necessary.
In section land forces are information about all land vehicles such as tanks, Armoured fighting vehicles, artillery. There is an information on how many of these vehicles are currently in use in the army. Artillery includes towed, self-propelled gun (SPG) and rocket artillery. AFV includes infantry fighting vehicles, tank destroyers, armoured personnel carriers, mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles(MRAP), amphibious and reconnaissance vehicles.
Air Forces summarizes the number and type of air units in the country. Total aircraft is number of all military aircraft, combat drones and helicopters in country. Includes training and cargo. Attack includes ground-attack and strategic bomber aircraft.
