Jordan Peninsula Shield Force

Jordan has Major Non-NATO Ally (MNNA) status with the United States. Jordan signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1994. The JAF inventory is comprised of a wide mix of imported equipment from Europe, Russia, and the USA.

The Peninsula Shield Force is the military arm of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Members of PSF: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. As of March 2011, the Peninsula Shield Force was commanded by Saudi Major General Mutlaq bin Salem Al-Azima and has about 40 thousand troops.
