Malaysia is a member of the Five Powers Defense Arrangements, a series of mutual assistance agreements reached in 1971 embracing Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. The Indonesian military inventory comes from a wide variety of sources. Indonesia has a growing defense industry fueled by technology transfers and cooperation agreements with several countries. The Indonesian Government publicly said in 2022 that growing its domestic defense industry is a national priority over the next 5-10 years.
