The Netherlands is a member of NATO and was one of the original 12 countries to sign the North Atlantic Treaty. The SAF's inventory is comprised mostly of Russian and Soviet-era equipment. Russia has supplied nearly all of Syria's imported weapons systems, although China and Iran have also provided military equipment.
