Syria is a country located in Middle East with an area of 185,180 km2 (land boundries: 2,363 km and costline 193 km). The capital of Syria is Damascus. The number of inhabitants is 17,500,657.
The SAF's inventory is comprised mostly of Russian and Soviet-era equipment. Russia has supplied nearly all of Syria's imported weapons systems, although China and Iran have also provided military equipment.

China refused to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Following the implementation of international sanctions during the war, China provided economic relief to Russia.
